RECOMBINANT ANTIGEN p18 from Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV)
products short name :
[p18]
products gene name :
[BFRF3]
form :
Dry powder (lyophilized)
storage stability :
Lyophilized protein is shipped with on ice packs. Upon arrival, it should be stored at 20 degree C to -80 degree C. Aliquot after reconstitution in order to avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles and store at 20 degree C to -80 degree C.
app notes :
ELISA and Western blot assays. Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique, this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates.
Suggested Titer By ELISA: approx. until 1:48.636, which corresponds to 0.044ug/mL of protein concentration in plates, for IgM detection.

Testing Data #2
other info1 :
Source: Escherichia Coli. Total quantity per aliquot: 0.5 mg. Recombinant Antigen: EBV antigen p18 (Wout et al., 1993). Absense of precipitation after a freezing and thawing cycles: ok
other info2 :
. Observations: Proteins should be maintained frozen at high concentrations. The dilution to be performed for ELISA assays should be made with a small quantity of protein, the same day of the experiment. In order to defrost the protein, maintain the aliquot at 25 degree C without shaking to avoid aggregation. Prior making test dilutions and after defrost the protein, is recommended to remove possible protein aggregates by centrifuging the stock solution, avoiding alterations in the immobilization of the biomolecule to the solid surface. Batch composition: Components: His-p18 . Composition: Recombinant antigen with a his-tag in its N-terminus. Quality Control: PROTEIN CONCENTRATION DETERMINED ESPECTROPHOTOMETRICALLY. DO 280 =0.202. A 0.1% (=1 g/l) = 0.094. CONCENTRATION: 2.14mg/ml. *The meassurement of the protein concentration has been performed with the theoretical extinction coefficient of the recombinant protein obtained from Gill and vonHippel, 1989. Reconstitution: For lyophilized proteins: with 0.04 ml of sterile double-distilled water (lot specific) for a final concentration of 1.59 mg/ml (lot specific). The protein will be at pH 8.

products description :
This recombinant antigen is a truncated form of the capsid protein VP26, the putative 18 kDa (VCA), which is codified by the BFRF3 gene of EBV.
