products description :
Intended Uses: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for the in vitro quantitative measurement of C1QTNF9 in human serum, plasma or other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to C1QTNF9. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific to C1QTNF9. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain C1QTNF9, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of C1QTNF9 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a serine protease, which is a major constituent of the human complement subcomponent C1. C1s associates with two other complement components C1r and C1q in order to yield the first component of the serum complement system. Defects in this gene are the cause of selective C1s deficiency. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]
uniprot summary :
C1s B chain is a serine protease that combines with C1q and C1r to form C1, the first component of the classical pathway of the complement system. C1r activates C1s so that it can, in turn, activate C2 and C4.
