Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx. 75kDa band in Human Brain (amygdala) lysates after 0.2ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 86.0kDa according to NP_073557.3. The 75kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:32000.

This gene encodes a subunit of the microprocessor complex which mediates the biogenesis of microRNAs from the primary microRNA transcript. The encoded protein is a double-stranded RNA binding protein that functions as the non-catalytic subunit of the microprocessor complex. This protein is required for binding the double-stranded RNA substrate and facilitates cleavage of the RNA by the ribonuclease III protein, Drosha.
