Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 85kDa band in lysates of cell lines Daudi, Jurkat and MOLT4 after 0.02ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 25.4kDa according to NP_005746.2. The 85kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:32000.

This gene was identified by its induced expression in B lymphocytes in response Epstein-Barr virus infection. It encodes a secreted glycoprotein belonging to the hematopoietin receptor family, and heterodimerizes with a 28 kDa protein to form interleukin 27 (IL-27).
