Aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Minimize freezing and thawing.
tested application :
Peptide ELISA (EIA)
app notes :
Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave bands at approx 30kDa and 20kDa in Human Brain (Cerebellum) lysates after 0.1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the bands we observe given the calculated size of 36.5kDa according to NP_000665.1 and NP_001041695.1. Both detected bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide (and BLAST results with the immunizing peptide sequence did not identify any other proteins to explain the additional bands). Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:64000.
other info1 :
Epitope: C Terminus. Immunogen: Peptide with sequence NDHFRCQPAPPIDED, from the C Terminus of the protein sequence according to NP_000665.1; NP_001041695.1. Corresponding Immunizing Peptide: Catalog #MBS425566
other info2 :
Important Note: Both reported isoforms represent identical protein (NP_000665.1; NP_001041695.1)

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is an adenosine receptor that belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. There are 3 types of adenosine receptors, each with a specific pattern of ligand binding and tissue distribution, and together they regulate a diverse set of physiologic functions. The type A1 receptors inhibit adenylyl cyclase, and play a role in the fertilization process. Animal studies also suggest a role for A1 receptors in kidney function and ethanol intoxication. Transcript variants with alternative splicing in the 5' UTR have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
