Immunohistochemistry: This antibody showed nuclear staining in Human Cervix, as confirmed by anonymous customer (data not shown). Western Blot: Approx 57kDa band observed in lysates of cell line A549. In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing IRF5 a strong band of approx. 60kDa is observed. This band is not observed in the non-transfected HEK293. The calculated molecular size is 57.8kDa according to NP_001092099.1. Recommended concentration, 0.1-0.3ug/ml. Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:32000. Chromatin immunoprecipitation: This antibody has been successfully used in human monocyte-derived dendritic cells.

This gene encodes a member of the interferon regulatory factor (IRF) family, a group of transcription factors with diverse roles, including virus-mediated activation of interferon, and modulation of cell growth, differentiation, apoptosis, and immune system activity. Members of the IRF family are characterized by a conserved N-terminal DNA-binding domain containing tryptophan (W) repeats. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene, and a 30-nt indel polymorphism (SNP rs60344245) can result in loss of a 10-aa segment.
