Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 1000. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 35kDa band in lysates of cell line NIH3T3 after 0.1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 57.5kDa according to NP_067013.1. The 35kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

The protein encoded by this gene binds to intronic polypyrimidine clusters in pre-mRNA molecules and is implicated in controlling the assembly of other splicing-regulatory proteins. This protein is very similar to the polypyrimidine tract binding protein (PTB) but most of its isoforms are expressed primarily in the brain. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]
