Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Tonsil, stains mantle zone and to a lessser extent germinal centre. Data obtained by previous batch (different goat). Recommended concentration, 0.1-0.3ug/ml. Also islets of Langerhans in paraffin embedded Human Pancreas is specifically stained (please contact technical support for details). Western Blot: Approx 26kDa band observed in lysate in cell MOLT4, Human Thymus and Mouse and Rat Brain and Spleen lysates (calculated MW of 25.2kDa according to Human NP_002077.1 and according to Rat NP_110473.2). Recommended for use at 0.05-0.15ug/ml. Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:32000.

The protein encoded by this gene binds the epidermal growth factor receptor and contains one SH2 domain and two SH3 domains. Its two SH3 domains direct complex formation with proline-rich regions of other proteins, and its SH2 domain binds tyrosine phosphorylated sequences. This gene is similar to the Sem5 gene of C.elegans, which is involved in the signal transduction pathway. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
