Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Adrenal Gland shows membranous and fibrous staning in and around secretory cells of the zona fasciculata in the cortex. Recommended concentration, 3-5ug/ml. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave bands at approx 150kDa and 22-24kDa in Human Brain (Hippocampus) lysates after 0.1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the bands we observe given the calculated size of 95.6kDa according to NP_003493.1 and 91.7kDa according to NP_851393.1. The detected bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide (and BLAST results with the immunizing peptide sequence did not identify any other proteins to explain the additional bands). Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:128000.

This gene encodes a cytoplasmic protein which contains a regulation of G-protein signaling (RGS) domain and a dishevelled and axin (DIX) domain. The encoded protein interacts with adenomatosis polyposis coli, catenin beta-1, glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta, protein phosphate 2, and itself. This protein functions as a negative regulator of the wingless-type MMTV integration site family, member 1 (WNT) signaling pathway and can induce apoptosis. The crystal structure of a portion of this protein, alone and in a complex with other proteins, has been resolved. Mutations in this gene have been associated with hepatocellular carcinoma, hepatoblastomas, ovarian endometriod adenocarcinomas, and medullablastomas.
