Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 128000. Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Liver shows granular cytoplasm staining of hepatocytes. Recommended concentration, 3ug/ml. Western Blot: In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing DGAT2 bands of approx. 60kDa and 45kDa are observed. These bands are not observed in the non-transfected HEK293. Similar results are observed in Human Liver lysates. The calculated molecular size is 43.8kDa according to NP_115953.2. Recommended concentration, 0.3-1ug/ml. Enzyme immunoassay: Sandwich-type ELISA with increasing amount of recombinant DGAT2 captured by a rabbit antibody. Recommended reporter concentration: 0.5-1ug/ml.

This gene encodes one of two enzymes which catalyzes the final reaction in the synthesis of triglycerides in which diacylglycerol is covalently bound to long chain fatty acyl-CoAs. The encoded protein catalyzes this reaction at low concentrations of magnesium chloride while the other enzyme has high activity at high concentrations of magnesium chloride.
