Arginine methylation is a very common posttranslational modification, that occurs predominantly in the nucleus and the main pool of proteins that are modified in such a way possess RNA binding properties. More broadly, arginine methylation has been implicated in a variety of cellular processes, including protein trafficking, signal transduction and transcriptional regulation. This antibody is raised from rabbits with immunization of NGNG-dimethyl arginine-KLH conugates and specifically isolated and affinity purified using NGNG-dimethyl arginine antigen. The affinity purified methyl arginie antibodys useful for detection, isolation, localization of proteins with methylated arginine (asymetric dimethylation) residues
