Buffer: 20mM Tris, pH7.4 containing 0.1 M Sodium Chloride. Preservative: 0.05% Sodium Azide. Warnings: This product contains sodium azide, which has been classified as Xn (Harmful), in European Directive 67/548/EEC in the concentration range of 0.1-1.0%. When disposing of this reagent through lead or copper plumbing, flush with copious volumes of water to prevent azide build-up in drains. All human source materials have tested non-reactive for HIV1, HIV2, HCV antibodies, HBsAg, Syphilis and HIV-1 antigen by approved FDA tests. No test gurantees a product to be non-infectious. Therefore, all material derived from human fluids, or tissues shoudl be considered as potentially infectious.

Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA; MIM 114890) is one of the most widely used tumor markers in serum immunoassay determinations of carcinoma. An apparent lack of absolute cancer specificity for CEA probably results in part from the presence in normal and neoplastic tissues of antigens that share antigenic determinants with the 180-kD form of CEA (Barnett et al., 1988 [PubMed 3220478]).
