storage stability :
Store at 2-8 degree C. Do not freeze. The user must validate any other storage conditions. When properly stored, the reagent is stable to the date indicated on the label. Do not use the reagent beyond the expiration date. There are no definitive signs to indicate instability of this product; therefore, positive and negative controls should be tested simultaneously with unknown specimens. If unexpected results are observed which cannot be explained by variations in laboratory procedures and a problem with the reagent is suspected, contact Technical Support.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Western Blot (WB)
app notes :
Immunohistochemistry Procedure . Specimen Preparation: Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues are suitable for use with this primary antibody. Deparaffinization: Deparaffinize slides using xylene or xylene alternative and graded alcohols. Antibody Dilution: If using the concentrate format of this product, dilute the antibody 1:100. The dilutions are estimates; actual results may differ because of variability in methods and protocols. Antigen Retrieval: Boil tissue section in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10 min followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min. Primary Antibody Incubation: Incubate for 30 minutes at room temperature. Slide Washing: Slides must be washed in between steps. Rinse slides with PBS/0.05% Tween. Visualization: Detect the antibody as instructed by the instructions provided with the visualization system. Immunohistochemistry Dilution: 1:100. IHC Positive Control: Testis. Western Blot . Recommended Starting Protocol: Dilute the antibody 1:25. Incubate for 1 hour at room temperature. The dilution is an estimate; actual results may differ because of variability in methods and protocols. Optimal dilution and procedure should be determined by the end user. Western Blot Positive Control: HeLa Cell Lysate
other info2 :
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide derived from N-terminus of human inhibin-alpha. Control Tissue: Testis. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasm. Entrez Gene Code: 3623. Pathway: Hormones
products description :
Inhibin is a dimeric glycoprotein hormone from the TGF-beta family made up of alpha and beta subunits. It inhibits the production of follicle-stimulating hormone from the pituitary while activin stimulates the production of FSH. It is suggested that inhibin may act as a gonadal tumor suppressor.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes the alpha subunit of inhibins A and B protein complexes. These complexes negatively regulate follicle stimulating hormone secretion from the pituitary gland. Inhibins have also been implicated in regulating numerous cellular processes including cell proliferation, apoptosis, immune response and hormone secretion.[provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]
uniprot summary :
INHA: Inhibins and activins inhibit and activate, respectively, the secretion of follitropin by the pituitary gland. Inhibins/activins are involved in regulating a number of diverse functions such as hypothalamic and pituitary hormone secretion, gonadal hormone secretion, germ cell development and maturation, erythroid differentiation, insulin secretion, nerve cell survival, embryonic axial development or bone growth, depending on their subunit composition. Inhibins appear to oppose the functions of activins. Belongs to the TGF-beta family. Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q35. Cellular Component: photoreceptor inner segment; photoreceptor outer segment; cell soma; extracellular region. Molecular Function: protein binding; growth factor activity; protein heterodimerization activity; hormone activity; cytokine activity; transforming growth factor beta receptor binding; receptor binding. Biological Process: hemoglobin biosynthetic process; negative regulation of B cell differentiation; nervous system development; regulation of cell cycle; male gonad development; signal transduction; regulation of cell proliferation; negative regulation of interferon-gamma biosynthetic process; negative regulation of cell cycle; negative regulation of follicle-stimulating hormone secretion; response to external stimulus; regulation of apoptosis; cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; ovarian follicle development; cell-cell signaling; negative regulation of macrophage differentiation; regulation of MAPKKK cascade; erythrocyte differentiation; negative regulation of phosphorylation; positive regulation of follicle-stimulating hormone secretion; cell cycle arrest; cell differentiation; skeletal development; cell development
