storage stability :
Store at 2-8 degree C. Do not freeze. The user must validate any other storage conditions. When properly stored, the reagent is stable to the date indicated on the label. Do not use the reagent beyond the expiration date. There are no definitive signs to indicate instability of this product; therefore, positive and negative controls should be tested simultaneously with unknown specimens. If unexpected results are observed which cannot be explained by variations in laboratory procedures and a problem with the reagent is suspected, contact Technical Support.
tested application :
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin
app notes :
Immunohistochemistry Procedure . Specimen Preparation: Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues are suitable for use with this primary antibody. Deparaffinization: Deparaffinize slides using xylene or xylene alternative and graded alcohols. Antibody Dilution: If using the concentrate format of this product, dilute the antibody 1:100. The dilutions are estimates; actual results may differ because of variability in methods and protocols. Antigen Retrieval: Boil tissue section in 10mM Citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Primary Antibody Incubation: Incubate for 10 minutes at RT. Slide Washing: Slides must be washed in between steps. Rinse slides with PBS/0.05% Tween. Visualization: Detect the antibody as instructed by the instructions provided with the visualization system. Immunohistochemistry Dilution: Ready To Use. IHC Positive Control: Skin
other info2 :
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide derived from internal region of human c-Fos oncoprotein. Control Tissue: Skin. Cellular Localization: Nucleus. Entrez Gene Code: 2353. Pathway: Transcriptional Regulators
products description :
The c-fos proto-oncogene encodes a nuclear phosphoprotein and is a regulator of transcription, forming a complex with the c-jun proto-oncogene product. Expression of the c-fos gene is low in most normal adult tissues. However, high levels of expression have been detected in normal skin.

ncbi summary :
The Fos gene family consists of 4 members: FOS, FOSB, FOSL1, and FOSL2. These genes encode leucine zipper proteins that can dimerize with proteins of the JUN family, thereby forming the transcription factor complex AP-1. As such, the FOS proteins have been implicated as regulators of cell proliferation, differentiation, and transformation. In some cases, expression of the FOS gene has also been associated with apoptotic cell death. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
