storage stability :
Store at 2-8 degree C. Do not freeze. The user must validate any other storage conditions. When properly stored, the reagent is stable to the date indicated on the label. Do not use the reagent beyond the expiration date. There are no definitive signs to indicate instability of this product; therefore, positive and negative controls should be tested simultaneously with unknown specimens. If unexpected results are observed which cannot be explained by variations in laboratory procedures and a problem with the reagent is suspected, contact Technical Support.
tested application :
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin
app notes :
Immunohistochemistry Procedure . Specimen Preparation: Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues are suitable for use with this primary antibody. Deparaffinization: Deparaffinize slides using xylene or xylene alternative and graded alcohols. Antibody Dilution: If using the concentrate format of this product, dilute the antibody 1:200. The dilutions are estimates; actual results may differ because of variability in methods and protocols. Antigen Retrieval: Boil tissue sections in 10mM Citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Primary Antibody Incubation: Incubate for 10 minutes at RT. Slide Washing: Slides must be washed in between steps. Rinse slides with PBS/0.05% Tween. Visualization: Detect the antibody as instructed by the instructions provided with the visualization system. Immunohistochemistry Dilution: Ready To Use. IHC Positive Control: Placenta, Bladder, Breast, Ovarian Carcinoma
other info2 :
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide from near C-terminus of human MMP-1 protein. Control Tissue: Bladder, Breast, Ovarian Carcinoma, Placenta. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasm. Entrez Gene Code: 4312. Pathway: Proteases and Protease Regulators
products description :
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) are proteolytic enzymes capable of degrading connective tissue components. Imbalanced secretion of certain MMP or disturbances in the differential control of MMP by tissue inhibitor of MMPs (TIMPs) is implicated in the invasive potential of malignant tumors. Interstitial collagenase (MMP-1), 72kDa gelatinase A / type IV collagenase (MMP-2), and 92kDa gelatinase B / type IV collagenase (MMP-9) dissolve extracellular matrix (ECM) and may initiate and promote angiogenesis.

ncbi summary :
Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. This gene encodes a secreted enzyme which breaks down the interstitial collagens, types I, II, and III. The gene is part of a cluster of MMP genes which localize to chromosome 11q22.3. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]
