CD117, also called KIT or c-kit receptor, is a cytokine receptor on the surface of hematopoietic stemcells and other cells. CD117 gene encodes the human homolog of the proto-oncogene c-kit.Mutations in this gene are associated with gastrointestinal stromal tumors, mast cell disease, andchronic myelogenous leukemia. It recognizes a protein of 145kDa, which is identified asCD117/p145kit. This rabbit polyclonal antibody does not interfere with the binding of SCF to c-kit. Itprecipitates both the unoccupied as well as the occupied form of c-kit.
