Samples: Serum, Plasma, Other biological fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich
other info2 :
Sample Volume: 1-200 uL. Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay). Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess intra-assay precision. Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays). Three samples of known concentration were tested in forty separate assays to assess inter-assay precision. CV (%) = SD/meanX100. Intra-Assay: CV. Inter-Assay: CV. Detection Wavelength: 450 nm
products description :
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MT-RNR2 in samples. An antibody specific for MT-RNR2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyMT-RNR2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MT-RNR2 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MT-RNR2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

uniprot summary :
HUNIN: Plays a role as a neuroprotective factor. Protects against death induced by multiple different familial Alzheimer disease genes and beta amyloid proteins in Alzheimer disease. Suppresses apoptosis by binding to BAX and preventing the translocation of BAX from the cytosol to mitochondria. Binds to IGFBP3 and specifically blocks IGFBP3-induced cell death Induces chemotaxis of mononuclear phagocytes via FPR2. Reduces the aggregation and fibrillary formation by suppressing the effect of APP on mononuclear phagocytes and acts by competitively inhibiting the access of FPRL1 to APP. Belongs to the humanin family.
