Samples: Serum, Plasma, Biological Fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 78.125-5000pg/mL. Sensitivity: Min: 46.875pg/mL; Max: 5000pg/mL
products description :
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit can be applied to the in vitro quantitative determination of Mouse IL-1R2 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been precoated with an antibody specific to Mouse IL-1R2. Standards or samples are added to appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibodies specific for Mouse IL-1R2 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. After incubation, free components are washed away. Then the Substrate Reagent is added to each well, only those wells that contain Mouse IL-1R2, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin- HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction will be terminated by adding Stop Solution and appears yellow in color. The optical density (OD) can be measured with spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Mouse IL-1R2. The concentration of Mouse IL-1R2 in samples can be calculated by comparing the OD of the samples with the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine receptor that belongs to the interleukin 1 receptor family. This protein binds interleukin alpha (IL1A), interleukin beta (IL1B), and interleukin 1 receptor, type I(IL1R1/IL1RA), and acts as a decoy receptor that inhibits the activity of its ligands. Interleukin 4 (IL4) is reported to antagonize the activity of interleukin 1 by inducing the expression and release of this cytokine. This gene and three other genes form a cytokine receptor gene cluster on chromosome 2q12. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants and protein isoforms. Alternative splicing produces both membrane-bound and soluble proteins. A soluble protein is also produced by proteolytic cleavage. [provided by RefSeq, May 2012]
uniprot summary :
IL-1RB: Non-signaling receptor for IL1A, IL1B and IL1RN. Reduces IL1B activities. Serves as a decoy receptor by competetive binding to IL1B and preventing its binding to IL1R1. Also modulates cellular response through non-signaling association with IL1RAP after binding to IL1B. IL1R2 (membrane and secreted forms) preferentially binds IL1B and poorly IL1A and IL1RN. The secreted IL1R2 recruits secreted IL1RAP with high affinity; this complex formation may be the dominant mechanism for neutralization of IL1B by secreted/soluble receptors. Belongs to the interleukin-1 receptor family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Membrane protein, integral. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q12. Cellular Component: integral to membrane; extracellular region; plasma membrane. Molecular Function: protein binding; interleukin-1, Type II, blocking receptor activity; interleukin-1 receptor activity. Biological Process: cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; immune response
