products description :
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit can be applied to the in vitro quantitative determination of Human MYH10 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been precoated with an antibody specific to Human MYH10. Standards or samples are added to appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibodies specific for Human MYH10 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. After incubation, free components are washed away. Then the Substrate Reagent is added to each well, only those wells that contain Human MYH10, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction will be terminated by adding Stop Solution and appears yellow in color. The optical density (OD) can be measured with spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Human MYH10. The concentration of Human MYH10 in samples can be calculated by comparing the OD of the samples with the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a member of the myosin superfamily. The protein represents a conventional non-muscle myosin; it should not be confused with the unconventional myosin-10 (MYO10). Myosins are actin-dependent motor proteins with diverse functions including regulation of cytokinesis, cell motility, and cell polarity. Mutations in this gene have been associated with May-Hegglin anomaly and developmental defects in brain and heart. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
uniprot summary :
MYH10: Cellular myosin that appears to play a role in cytokinesis, cell shape, and specialized functions such as secretion and capping. Involved with LARP6 in the stabilization of type I collagen mRNAs for CO1A1 and CO1A2. Myosin is a hexameric protein that consists of 2 heavy chain subunits (MHC), 2 alkali light chain subunits (MLC) and 2 regulatory light chain subunits (MLC-2). Interacts with PLEKHG6. Interacts with ECM29. Interacts with KIF26B. Interacts with LARP6. Isoform 1 is expressed in cerebellum and spinal chord. Isoform 2 is expressed in cerebrum and retina. Isoform 3 is expressed in the cerebrum and to a much lower extent in cerebellum. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Motor; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17p13. Cellular Component: mitochondrion; myosin II complex; dendritic spine; actomyosin; cell cortex; actin cytoskeleton; growth cone; cell soma; lamellipodium; axon; cytoplasm; stress fiber; plasma membrane; spindle; midbody; nucleus; neuromuscular junction; myosin complex; cleavage furrow. Molecular Function: actin filament binding; microfilament motor activity; calmodulin binding; protein binding; actin-dependent ATPase activity; actin binding; ADP binding; ATP binding. Biological Process: adult heart development; axon guidance; exocytosis; actin filament-based movement; in utero embryonic development; metabolic process; fourth ventricle development; actomyosin structure organization and biogenesis; ventricular cardiac muscle cell development; neuron migration; cerebellar Purkinje cell layer development; cardiac myofibril assembly; third ventricle development; substrate-bound cell migration, cell extension; regulation of cell shape; cell proliferation; cytokinesis after mitosis; retina development in camera-type eye; plasma membrane repair; ephrin receptor signaling pathway; cell adhesion; neuromuscular process controlling balance; nuclear migration; lateral ventricle development
