specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Rat CTSK. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Rat CTSK and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross- reactivity detection between Rat CTSK and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.
storage stability :
Store at 4 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, Plasma, Biological Fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 78.125--5000pg/mL. Sensitivity: 46.875pg/mL
products description :
Description: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of CTSK in Rat serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat CTSK. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and bound by the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat CTSK and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat CTSK, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat CTSK. You can calculate the concentration of Rat CTSK in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a lysosomal cysteine proteinase involved in bone remodeling and resorption. This protein, which is a member of the peptidase C1 protein family, is predominantly expressed in osteoclasts. However, the encoded protein is also expressed in a significant fraction of human breast cancers, where it could contribute to tumor invasiveness. Mutations in this gene are the cause of pycnodysostosis, an autosomal recessive disease characterized by osteosclerosis and short stature. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2013]
uniprot summary :
CTSK: Closely involved in osteoclastic bone resorption and may participate partially in the disorder of bone remodeling. Displays potent endoprotease activity against fibrinogen at acid pH. May play an important role in extracellular matrix degradation. Defects in CTSK are the cause of pycnodysostosis (PKND). PKND is an autosomal recessive osteochondrodysplasia characterized by osteosclerosis and short stature. Belongs to the peptidase C1 family. Protein type: Protease; EC 3.4.22.38. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q21. Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region. Molecular Function: collagen binding; proteoglycan binding; protein binding; cysteine-type endopeptidase activity; fibronectin binding; cysteine-type peptidase activity. Biological Process: extracellular matrix disassembly; collagen catabolic process; intramembranous ossification; extracellular matrix organization and biogenesis; proteolysis involved in cellular protein catabolic process; toll-like receptor signaling pathway; innate immune response; proteolysis; bone resorption. Disease: Pycnodysostosis
