other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 15.625-1000pg/mL. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of Mouse IL-12 is 9.375pg/mL (The sensitivity of this assay, or lowest detectable limit (LDL) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero).
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Mouse IL-12 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to IL-12. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for IL-12 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain IL-12, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of IL-12. You can calculate the concentration of IL-12 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a type I transmembrane protein identified as a subunit of the interleukin 12 receptor complex. The coexpression of this and IL12RB1 proteins was shown to lead to the formation of high-affinity IL12 binding sites and reconstitution of IL12 dependent signaling. The expression of this gene is up-regulated by interferon gamma in Th1 cells, and plays a role in Th1 cell differentiation. The up-regulation of this gene is found to be associated with a number of infectious diseases, such as Crohn's disease and leprosy, which is thought to contribute to the inflammatory response and host defense. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms and non-protein coding transcripts have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2012]
uniprot summary :
IL12RB2: Receptor for interleukin-12. This subunit is the signaling component coupling to the JAK2/STAT4 pathway. Promotes the proliferation of T-cells as well as NK cells. Induces the promotion of T-cells towards the Th1 phenotype by strongly enhancing IFN-gamma production. Belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Type 2 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Cell cycle regulation; Receptor, cytokine. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p31.3-p31.2. Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; external side of plasma membrane. Molecular Function: hematopoietin/interferon-class (D200-domain) cytokine receptor activity; protein kinase binding. Biological Process: positive regulation of interferon-gamma production; cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation; cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; positive regulation of cell proliferation; interferon-gamma production; response to lipopolysaccharide
