specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Human MMP-24. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human MMP-24 and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross- reactivity detection between Human MMP-24 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.
storage stability :
Store at 4 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, Plasma, Biological Fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 0.156--10ng/mL. Sensitivity: 0.094ng/mL
products description :
Description: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of MMP-24 in human serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human MMP-24. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and bound by the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Human MMP-24 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Human MMP-24, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Human MMP-24. You can calculate the concentration of Human MMP-24 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. However, the protein encoded by this gene is a member of the membrane-type MMP (MT-MMP) subfamily; each member of this subfamily contains a potential transmembrane domain suggesting that these proteins are expressed at the cell surface rather than secreted. This protein activates MMP2 by cleavage. The gene has previously been referred to as MMP25 but has been renamed MMP24. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
MMP24: Activates progelatinase A. May also be a proteoglycanase involved in degradation of proteoglycans, such as dermatan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans. Cleaves partially fibronectin, but not collagen type I, nor laminin. Belongs to the peptidase M10A family. Protein type: Activator; Membrane protein, integral; Protease; EC 3.4.24.-. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20q11.2. Cellular Component: proteinaceous extracellular matrix; integral to plasma membrane; trans-Golgi network membrane. Molecular Function: zinc ion binding; cadherin binding; metalloendopeptidase activity; enzyme activator activity; calcium ion binding. Biological Process: positive regulation of catalytic activity; glial cell differentiation; detection of temperature stimulus involved in sensory perception of pain; proteolysis
