Store at 4 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 0.156-10ng/mL. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of Sheep ANG2 is 0.094ng/mL (The sensitivity of this assay, or lowest detectable limit (LDL) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero).
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Sheep ANG2 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to ANG2. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for ANG2 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain ANG2, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of ANG2. You can calculate the concentration of ANG2 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is an antagonist of angiopoietin 1 (ANGPT1) and endothelial TEK tyrosine kinase (TIE-2, TEK). The encoded protein disrupts the vascular remodeling ability of ANGPT1 and may induce endothelial cell apoptosis. Three transcript variants encoding three different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
ANGPT2: Binds to TEK/TIE2, competing for the ANGPT1 binding site, and modulating ANGPT1 signaling. Can induce tyrosine phosphorylation of TEK/TIE2 in the absence of ANGPT1. In the absence of angiogenic inducers, such as VEGF, ANGPT2-mediated loosening of cell-matrix contacts may induce endothelial cell apoptosis with consequent vascular regression. In concert with VEGF, it may facilitate endothelial cell migration and proliferation, thus serving as a permissive angiogenic signal. Interacts with TEK/TIE2, competing for the same binding site as ANGPT1. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8p23.1. Cellular Component: extracellular space; cell projection; plasma membrane; extracellular region; nucleus. Molecular Function: protein binding; metal ion binding; receptor tyrosine kinase binding; receptor binding. Biological Process: organ regeneration; Tie receptor signaling pathway; maternal process involved in pregnancy; negative regulation of blood vessel endothelial cell migration; signal transduction; response to organic cyclic substance; germ cell development; negative regulation of positive chemotaxis; response to radiation; positive regulation of angiogenesis; negative regulation of angiogenesis; response to mechanical stimulus; response to hypoxia; response to glucose stimulus; response to activity; angiogenesis; blood coagulation; leukocyte migration
