specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Human GDF9. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human GDF9 and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross- reactivity detection between Human GDF9 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.
storage stability :
Store at 4 degree C.

products description :
Description: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of GDF9 in human serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human GDF9. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and bound by the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Human GDF9 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Human GDF9, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Human GDF9. You can calculate the concentration of Human GDF9 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a member of the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily. The encoded preproprotein is processed into a secreted factor that is required for ovarian folliculogenesis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2014]
uniprot summary :
GDF9: Required for ovarian folliculogenesis. Promotes primordial follicle development. Stimulates granulosa cell proliferation. Promotes cell transition from G0/G1 to S and G2/M phases, through an increase of CCND1 and CCNE1 expression, and RB1 phosphorylation. It regulates STAR expression and cAMP-dependent progesterone release in granulosa and thecal cells. Attenuates the suppressive effects of activin A on STAR expression and progesterone production by increasing the expression of inhibin B. It suppresses FST and FSTL3 production in granulosa-lutein cells. Altered GDF9 function may be involved in ovarian disorders. Rare variants in GDF9 have been found in patients with premature ovarian failure and mothers of dizygotic twins. Belongs to the TGF-beta family. Protein type: Secreted; Cytokine; Secreted, signal peptide. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q31.1. Cellular Component: extracellular space; cytoplasm. Molecular Function: growth factor activity; cytokine activity; transforming growth factor beta receptor binding. Biological Process: regulation of apoptosis; BMP signaling pathway; oocyte growth; regulation of MAPKKK cascade; transforming growth factor beta receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of cell proliferation; female gamete generation; negative regulation of cell growth; cell development
