Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): 3 samples with low, midrange and high level HumanBTD were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): 3 samples with low, midrange and high level HumanBTD were testedon 3 different plates, 20 replicates in each plate.
products description :
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the invitro quantitative determination of HumanBTDconcentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to BTD. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for BTDand Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain BTD, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/-2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of BTD.You can calculate the concentration of BTDin the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the family of nitric oxide synthases, which synthesize nitric oxide from L-arginine. Nitric oxide is a reactive free radical, which acts as a biologic mediator in several processes, including neurotransmission, and antimicrobial and antitumoral activities. In the brain and peripheral nervous system, nitric oxide displays many properties of a neurotransmitter, and has been implicated in neurotoxicity associated with stroke and neurodegenerative diseases, neural regulation of smooth muscle, including peristalsis, and penile erection. This protein is ubiquitously expressed, with high level of expression in skeletal muscle. Multiple transcript variants that differ in the 5' UTR have been described for this gene but the full-length nature of these transcripts is not known. Additionally, alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms (some testis-specific) have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]
uniprot summary :
nNOS: nitric oxide synthase 1, neuronal form. Produces nitric oxide which is a messenger molecule with diverse functions and displays many properties of a neurotransmitter in the brain and peripheral nervous system. May be an effector enzyme for the dystrophin complex. Four alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.
