specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Rat Hepc. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Rat Hepc and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross- reactivity detection between Rat Hepc and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.
storage stability :
Store at 4 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, Plasma, Biological Fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 78.125--5000pg/mL. Sensitivity: 46.875pg/mL
products description :
Description: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of Hepc in Rat serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat Hepc. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and bound by the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat Hepc and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat Hepc, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat Hepc. You can calculate the concentration of Rat Hepc in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Iron Metabolism In Placenta Pathway (672461)
ncbi summary :
The product encoded by this gene is involved in the maintenance of iron homeostasis, and it is necessary for the regulation of iron storage in macrophages, and for intestinal iron absorption. The preproprotein is post-translationally cleaved into mature peptides of 20, 22 and 25 amino acids, and these active peptides are rich in cysteines, which form intramolecular bonds that stabilize their beta-sheet structures. These peptides exhibit antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi. Mutations in this gene cause hemochromatosis type 2B, also known as juvenile hemochromatosis, a disease caused by severe iron overload that results in cardiomyopathy, cirrhosis, and endocrine failure. uniprot summary :
HAMP: Seems to act as a signaling molecule involved in the maintenance of iron homeostasis. Seems to be required in conjunction with HFE to regulate both intestinal iron absorption and iron storage in macrophages. Defects in HAMP are the cause of hemochromatosis type 2B (HFE2B); also known as juvenile hemochromatosis (JH). HFE2B is a disorder of iron metabolism with excess deposition of iron in the tissues, bronze skin pigmentation, hepatic cirrhosis, arthropathy and diabetes. The most common symptoms of hemochromatosis type 2 at presentation are hypogonadism and cardiomyopathy. Belongs to the hepcidin family. Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.1. Cellular Component: apical cortex; extracellular region. Molecular Function: hormone activity. Biological Process: killing of cells of another organism; cellular iron ion homeostasis; defense response to bacterium; immune response; defense response to fungus. Disease: Hemochromatosis, Type 2b
