Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): 3 samples with low, mid range and high level Rat HDAC2 were tested on 3 different plates, 20 replicates in each plate.
products description :
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Rat HDAC2 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat HDAC2. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat HDAC2 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat HDAC2, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat HDAC2. You can calculate the concentration of Rat HDAC2 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear transcription factor which binds DNA as a homodimer. The encoded protein controls the expression of several genes, including hepatocyte nuclear factor 1 alpha, a transcription factor which regulates the expression of several hepatic genes. This gene may play a role in development of the liver, kidney, and intestines. Mutations in this gene have been associated with monogenic autosomal dominant non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus type I. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2012]
uniprot summary :
HNF4 alpha: a nuclear transcription factor which binds DNA as a homodimer. Controls the expression of several genes, including hepatocyte nuclear factor 1 alpha, a transcription factor which regulates the expression of several hepatic gene, alpha 1-antitrypsin, apolipoprotein CIII, and transthyretin genes. May be essential for development of the liver, kidney and intestine. Mutations have been associated with monogenic autosomal dominant non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus type I. Four alternatively spliced isoforms have been described. Protein type: Transcription factor; Nuclear receptor; DNA-binding. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20q13.12. Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; nucleus. Molecular Function: RNA polymerase II transcription factor activity, enhancer binding; ligand-dependent nuclear receptor activity; protein binding; protein homodimerization activity; DNA binding; zinc ion binding; steroid hormone receptor activity; transcription factor activity; fatty acid binding; receptor binding.
