specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Mouse gp130. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Mouse gp130 and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross- reactivity detection between Mouse gp130 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.

Store at 4 degree C.

Samples: Serum, Plasma, Biological Fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 125--8000pg/mL. Sensitivity: 75pg/mL
products description :
Description: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of gp130 in Mouse serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Mouse gp130. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and bound by the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Mouse gp130 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Mouse gp130, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Mouse gp130. You can calculate the concentration of Mouse gp130 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a signal transducer shared by many cytokines, including interleukin 6 (IL6), ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF), leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), and oncostatin M (OSM). This protein functions as a part of the cytokine receptor complex. The activation of this protein is dependent upon the binding of cytokines to their receptors. vIL6, a protein related to IL6 and encoded by the Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus, can bypass the interleukin 6 receptor (IL6R) and directly activate this protein. Knockout studies in mice suggest that this gene plays a critical role in regulating myocyte apoptosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. A related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 17. [provided by RefSeq, May 2014]
uniprot summary :
gp130: gp130 is a ubiquitously expressed type I cytokine family receptor. The receptor systems for IL6, LIF, OSM, CNTF, IL11 AND CT1 utilize gp130 for initiating signal transmission. Binds to IL6/IL6R (alpha chain) complex, resulting in the formation of high-affinity IL6 binding sites, and transduces the signal. Does not directly bind IL6. May have a role in embryonic development. Contains 5 fibronectin type III domains and 1 immunoglobulin-like C2-type domain. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described. Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, cytokine. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q11.2. Cellular Component: extracellular space; cell soma; membrane; oncostatin-M receptor complex; dendrite; extracellular region; plasma membrane; interleukin-6 receptor complex; external side of plasma membrane. Molecular Function: interleukin-11 binding; interleukin-27 receptor activity; protein homodimerization activity; leukemia inhibitory factor receptor activity; oncostatin-M receptor activity; interleukin-6 receptor activity; interleukin-11 receptor activity; protein binding; interleukin-6 receptor binding; interleukin-6 binding; growth factor binding; ciliary neurotrophic factor receptor activity; ciliary neurotrophic factor receptor binding. Biological Process: glycogen metabolic process; positive regulation of osteoblast differentiation; positive regulation of tyrosine phosphorylation of Stat1 protein; viral reproduction; regulation of Notch signaling pathway; positive regulation of acute inflammatory response; cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; response to cytokine stimulus; leukemia inhibitory factor signaling pathway; positive regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of T cell proliferation; positive regulation of adaptive immune response; positive regulation of tyrosine phosphorylation of Stat3 protein; negative regulation of apoptosis; positive regulation of astrocyte differentiation
