specificity :
This kit recognizes natural and recombinant Porcine IL-17. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Porcine IL-17 and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Store at 4 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 15.625-1000pg/mL. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of Porcine IL-17 is 9.375pg/mL (The sensitivity of this assay, or lowest detectable limit (LDL) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero).
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Porcine IL-17 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to IL-17. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for IL-17 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain IL-17, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of IL-17. You can calculate the concentration of IL-17 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by activated T cells. This cytokine regulates the activities of NF-kappaB and mitogen-activated protein kinases. This cytokine can stimulate the expression of IL6 and cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX-2), as well as enhance the production of nitric oxide (NO). High levels of this cytokine are associated with several chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and multiple sclerosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
