other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Detection Range: 1.25-80ng/mL. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of Human SFRP2 is 0.75ng/mL (The sensitivity of this assay, or lowest detectable limit (LDL) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero). Assay Type: Sandwich
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Human SFRP2 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.
products description :
Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to SFRP2. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for SFRP2 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain SFRP2, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of SFRP2. You can calculate the concentration of SFRP2 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a member of the SFRP family that contains a cysteine-rich domain homologous to the putative Wnt-binding site of Frizzled proteins. SFRPs act as soluble modulators of Wnt signaling. Methylation of this gene is a potential marker for the presence of colorectal cancer. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
SFRP2: Soluble frizzled-related proteins (sFRPS) function as modulators of Wnt signaling through direct interaction with Wnts. They have a role in regulating cell growth and differentiation in specific cell types. SFRP2 may be important for eye retinal development and for myogenesis. Belongs to the secreted frizzled-related protein (sFRP) family. Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q31.3. Cellular Component: extracellular matrix; extracellular space; integral to membrane. Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor activity; integrin binding; Wnt-protein binding; Wnt receptor activity; fibronectin binding; receptor agonist activity.
