specificity :
This kit recognizes natural and recombinant Human MT2. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human MT2 and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Store at 4 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 0.313-20ng/mL. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of Human MT2 is 0.188ng/mL (The sensitivity of this assay, or lowest detectable limit (LDL) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero).
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Human MT2 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to MT2. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for MT2 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain MT2, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of MT2. You can calculate the concentration of MT2 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes one of two high affinity forms of a receptor for melatonin, the primary hormone secreted by the pineal gland. This gene product is an integral membrane protein that is a G-protein coupled, 7-transmembrane receptor. It is found primarily in the retina and brain although this detection requires RT-PCR. It is thought to participate in light-dependent functions in the retina and may be involved in the neurobiological effects of melatonin. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
MTNR1B: High affinity receptor for melatonin. Likely to mediates the reproductive and circadian actions of melatonin. The activity of this receptor is mediated by pertussis toxin sensitive G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. Protein type: Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, multi-pass; GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q21-q22. Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane. Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor activity; protein binding; melatonin receptor activity. Biological Process: synaptic transmission; G-protein signaling, coupled to cyclic nucleotide second messenger; glucose homeostasis; regulation of insulin secretion. Disease: Diabetes Mellitus, Noninsulin-dependent
