specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Porcine FGF19. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Porcine FGF19 and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross- reactivity detection between Porcine FGF19 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.
storage stability :
Store at 4 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, Plasma, Biological Fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 15.625--1000pg/mL. Sensitivity: 9.375pg/mL
products description :
Description: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of FGF19 in Porcine serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Porcine FGF19. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and bound by the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Porcine FGF19 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Porcine FGF19, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Porcine FGF19. You can calculate the concentration of Porcine FGF19 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes including embryonic development cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This growth factor is a high affinity, heparin dependent ligand for FGFR4. Expression of this gene was detected only in fetal but not adult brain tissue. Synergistic interaction of the chick homolog and Wnt-8c has been shown to be required for initiation of inner ear development. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
FGF19: Involved in the suppression of bile acid biosynthesis through down-regulation of CYP7A1 expression, following positive regulation of the JNK and ERK1/2 cascades. Stimulates glucose uptake in adipocytes. Activity requires the presence of KLB and FGFR4. Belongs to the heparin-binding growth factors family. Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cytokine; Secreted, signal peptide; Cell development/differentiation; Secreted. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q13.1. Cellular Component: extracellular region. Molecular Function: protein binding; growth factor activity; fibroblast growth factor receptor binding. Biological Process: epidermal growth factor receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of glucose import; nervous system development; fibroblast growth factor receptor signaling pathway; phosphoinositide-mediated signaling; nerve growth factor receptor signaling pathway; heart development; positive regulation of cell proliferation; insulin receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of JNK cascade; innate immune response; positive regulation of protein amino acid phosphorylation; neural crest cell migration
