products description :
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Human ROS concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human ROS. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for HumanROS and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are addedsuccessively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Human ROS, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value isproportional to the concentration of Human ROS. You can calculate the concentration of Human ROS in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

uniprot summary :
S100A7: is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. This protein differs from the other S100 proteins of known structure in its lack of calcium binding ability in one EF-hand at the N-terminus. This protein is markedly over-expressed in the skin lesions of psoriatic patients, but is excluded as a candidate gene for familial psoriasis susceptibility. The exact function of this protein is not known. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q21. Cellular Component: focal adhesion; endoplasmic reticulum; cytoplasm; extracellular region; nucleus; cytosol. Molecular Function: protein binding; RAGE receptor binding; zinc ion binding; calcium ion binding. Biological Process: keratinocyte differentiation; sequestering of metal ion; epidermis development; response to reactive oxygen species; innate immune response; response to lipopolysaccharide; angiogenesis; defense response to Gram-negative bacterium
