Samples: Serum, Plasma, Biological Fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 15.625-1000pg/mL. Sensitivity: Min: 9.375pg/mL; Max: 1000pg/mL
products description :
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the invitro quantitative determination of HumanGROalpha/CXCL1concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to GROalpha/CXCL1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for GROalpha/CXCL1and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain GROalpha/CXCL1, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of GROalpha/CXCL1.You can calculate the concentration of GROalpha/CXCL1in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This antimicrobial gene encodes a member of the CXC subfamily of chemokines. The encoded protein is a secreted growth factor that signals through the G-protein coupled receptor, CXC receptor 2. This protein plays a role in inflammation and as a chemoattractant for neutrophils. Aberrant expression of this protein is associated with the growth and progression of certain tumors. A naturally occurring processed form of this protein has increased chemotactic activity. Alternate splicing results in coding and non-coding variants of this gene. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 4. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014]
uniprot summary :
CXCL1: Has chemotactic activity for neutrophils. May play a role in inflammation and exerts its effects on endothelial cells in an autocrine fashion. In vitro, the processed forms GRO- alpha(4-73), GRO-alpha(5-73) and GRO-alpha(6-73) show a 30-fold higher chemotactic activity. Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family. Protein type: Secreted; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Secreted, signal peptide. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q21. Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region. Molecular Function: growth factor activity; chemokine activity; CXCR chemokine receptor binding; enzyme activator activity; receptor binding. Biological Process: positive regulation of catalytic activity; cell proliferation; negative regulation of cell proliferation; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; nervous system development; response to lipopolysaccharide; immune response; positive regulation of leukocyte chemotaxis; signal transduction; chemotaxis; actin cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis; inflammatory response
