specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Human CA12. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human CA12 and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross- reactivity detection between Human CA12 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.
storage stability :
Store at 4 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, Plasma, Biological Fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 0.313--20ng/mL. Sensitivity: 0.188ng/mL
products description :
Description: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of CA12 in human serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human CA12. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and bound by the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Human CA12 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Human CA12, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Human CA12. You can calculate the concentration of Human CA12 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. They participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. This gene product is a type I membrane protein that is highly expressed in normal tissues, such as kidney, colon and pancreas, and has been found to be overexpressed in 10% of clear cell renal carcinomas. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014]
uniprot summary :
CA12: Reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Homodimer. Highly expressed in colon, kidney, prostate, intestine and activated lymphocytes. Expressed at much higher levels in the renal cell cancers than in surrounding normal kidney tissue. Moderately expressed in pancreas, ovary and testis. Inhibited by coumarins, saccharin, sulfonamide derivatives such as acetazolamide (AZA), benzenesulfonamide and derivatives (4-carboxyethylbenzene-sulfonamide, 4- carboxyethylbenzene-sulfonamide ethyl ester, 4-(acetyl-2- aminoethyl)benzene-sulfonamide, 4-aminoethylbenzene-sulfonamide) and Foscarnet (phosphonoformate trisodium salt). Belongs to the alpha-carbonic anhydrase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; EC 4.2.1.1; Lyase; Energy Metabolism - nitrogen. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q22. Cellular Component: integral to membrane; plasma membrane. Molecular Function: carbonate dehydratase activity; zinc ion binding. Biological Process: bicarbonate transport; one-carbon compound metabolic process; chloride ion homeostasis. Disease: Hyperchlorhidrosis, Isolated
