products description :
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit can be applied to the in vitro quantitative determination of Human PGAM1 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been precoated with an antibody specific to Human PGAM1. Standards or samples are added to appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibodies specific for Human PGAM1 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. After incubation, free components are washed away. Then the Substrate Reagent is added to each well, only those wells that contain Human PGAM1, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction will be terminated by adding Stop Solution and appears yellow in color. The optical density (OD) can be measured with spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Human PGAM1. The concentration of Human PGAM1 in samples can be calculated by comparing the OD of the samples with the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
Phosphoglyceric acid mutase (EC 2.7.5.3) is widely distributed in mammalian tissues where it catalyzes the reversible reaction of 3-phosphoglycerate (3-PGA) to 2-phosphoglycerate (2-PGA) in the glycolytic pathway (summary by Chen et al., 1974 [PubMed 4811757]).[supplied by OMIM, Nov 2010]
uniprot summary :
PGAM1: Interconversion of 3- and 2-phosphoglycerate with 2,3- bisphosphoglycerate as the primer of the reaction. Can also catalyze the reaction of EC 5.4.2.4 (synthase) and EC 3.1.3.13 (phosphatase), but with a reduced activity. Homodimer. In mammalian tissues there are two types of phosphoglycerate mutase isozymes: type-M in muscles and type-B in other tissues. Belongs to the phosphoglycerate mutase family. BPG- dependent PGAM subfamily. Protein type: Phosphatase (non-protein); Isomerase; EC 3.1.3.13; EC 5.4.2.11; Carbohydrate Metabolism - glycolysis and gluconeogenesis; EC 5.4.2.4. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q25.3. Cellular Component: membrane; cytoplasm; cytosol. Molecular Function: protein binding; phosphoglycerate mutase activity; bisphosphoglycerate mutase activity; bisphosphoglycerate phosphatase activity; protein kinase binding. Biological Process: respiratory burst; glycolysis; dephosphorylation; regulation of glycolysis; carbohydrate metabolic process; glucose metabolic process; pathogenesis; regulation of pentose-phosphate shunt; gluconeogenesis
