Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP)
app notes :
IHC-P (10 ug/ml), IP (2 - 5 ng/10E6 cells), WB (0.5 - 2 ug/ml). Usage: Immunohistochemistry: was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. The stained slides were evaluated by a pathologist to confirm staining specificity. The optimal working concentration for MBS241179 was determined to be 10 ug/ml.
other info1 :
Target Species: Human. Immunogen Description: Synthetic peptide from human MMP7.
other info2 :
Immunogen Type: Synthetic peptide. Immunogen: MMP7 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide from human MMP7. Antigen Modification: C-Terminus
products categories :
Family: Protease. Subfamily: Metallopeptidase M10A
products description :
MMP7 is a Metallopeptidase M10A type protease. MMP-7 (Matrilysin) is constitutively produced by exocrine epithelial cells through out the body. It is capable of degrading casein, fibronectin, gelatins of types 1, III, IV, and V, in addition to activating procollagenase. It has been shown to play a key role in invasion by carcinomas.

ncbi summary :
Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. The enzyme encoded by this gene degrades proteoglycans, fibronectin, elastin and casein and differs from most MMP family members in that it lacks a conserved C-terminal protein domain. The enzyme is involved in wound healing, and studies in mice suggest that it regulates the activity of defensins in intestinal mucosa. The gene is part of a cluster of MMP genes which localize to chromosome 11q22.3. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
