uniprot entry name :
IKBA_HUMAN
specificity :
This item is specific for NF-kappa-B inhibitor alpha (also known as IkB alpha), one of seven members of the IkB class of inhibitor proteins that have been identified to date. NFkBIa inhibits the NFkB complex in unstimulated cells through non-covalent binding. Following stimulation of cells, IkB alpha is phosphorylated so that it dissociates from the NFkB, and then ubiquinated prior to degradation.
form :
Serum. Serum - liquid
concentration :
Total protein concentration 80.0 mg/ml
storage stability :
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use. Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a member of the NF-kappa-B inhibitor family, which contain multiple ankrin repeat domains. The encoded protein interacts with REL dimers to inhibit NF-kappa-B/REL complexes which are involved in inflammatory responses. The encoded protein moves between the cytoplasm and the nucleus via a nuclear localization signal and CRM1-mediated nuclear export. Mutations in this gene have been found in ectodermal dysplasia anhidrotic with T-cell immunodeficiency autosomal dominant disease. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
