Rabbit anti Serotonin antibody recognizes serotonin and stains serotonin containing cells in human ileum and also stains primary and metastatic carcinoid tumours containing serotonin. Serotonin (also known as 5-hydroxytryptamine or 5-HT) is a biochemical messenger and neurotransmitter synthesized from L-tryptophan. Serotonin has a range of functions, including regulation of gastric motility, and may be related to some psychiatric disorders including schizophrenia and depression.

Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch. Store at 4°C or at -20°C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
