products description :
Rabbit anti Human TAAR1 antibody recognizes an epitope within Trace amine associated receptor 1 (TAAR1), a G protein-coupled receptor activated by trace amines; endogenous amine compounds present in the mammalian nervous system in trace amounts. TAAR1 may also be activated by metabolites of biogenic amine neurotransmitters including amphetamine-related psychostimulants. TAAR1 is a potentially important target for methamphetamine addiction.

ncbi summary :
TAAR1 is a G protein-coupled receptor activated by trace amines. Trace amines are endogenous amine compounds that account for less than 1% of the biogenic amines in most brain regions (Bunzow et al., 2001 [PubMed 11723224]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
