uniprot entry name :
ADIPO_HUMAN
reactivity :
Human, Mouse, Rat
specificity :
This item recognises an epitope within the C-terminal region (CT) of the 244 amino acid protein Adiponectin (also known as Acrp30), a major adipokine secreted into the bloodstream from adipose tissue to modulate metabolism, including glucose regulation and fatty acid catabolism. Unlike most other adipokines, Adiponectin is secreted exclusively by differentiating adipocytes at reduced levels during obesity. The serum level of Adiponectin is inversely correlated with BMI (body mass index) of an individual, and has an anti-inflammatory action, playing an important role in type II diabetes (insulin sensitivity) and atherosclerosis.
form :
Purified. Purified IgG - liquid
concentration :
IgG concentration 1.0mg/ml
storage stability :
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use. Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.
tested application :
Flow cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB)
app notes :
Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 26.4kDa in human HL60 cell lysates . Immunohistology - Paraffin: Maximum Dilution: 10ug/ml; Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. . Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1; Maximum Dilution: 2ug/ml
other info1 :
Perservative Stabilisers: 0.02% Sodium Azide (NaN3)
other info2 :
Immunogen: A 15 amino acid peptide located near human Adiponectin carboxy-terminus. Histology Positive Control Tissue: Rat brain. Buffer Solution: Phosphate buffered saline. Antiserum Preparation: Antisera to Human Adiponectin (CT) were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.

ncbi summary :
This gene is expressed in adipose tissue exclusively. It encodes a protein with similarity to collagens X and VIII and complement factor C1q. The encoded protein circulates in the plasma and is involved with metabolic and hormonal processes. Mutations in this gene are associated with adiponectin deficiency. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2010]
