storage stability :
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use. Shelf Life: 12 months from date of despatch.
tested application :
Immunohistology Frozen, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistology Paraffin*
app notes :
Immunohistology - Paraffin: Minimum Dilution: 1/40; Maximum Dilution: 1/80; Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. EDTA buffer pH 8.0 is recommended for this purpose. N.B. The epitope recognised by clone 514H12 is sensitive to peroxide. It is therefore recommended that any peroxidase-blocking steps be performed after incubation with this antibody .

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a 110-kD transmembrane glycoprotein that is highly expressed by human monocytes and tissue macrophages. It is a member of the lysosomal/endosomal-associated membrane glycoprotein (LAMP) family. The protein primarily localizes to lysosomes and endosomes with a smaller fraction circulating to the cell surface. It is a type I integral membrane protein with a heavily glycosylated extracellular domain and binds to tissue- and organ-specific lectins or selectins. The protein is also a member of the scavenger receptor family. Scavenger receptors typically function to clear cellular debris, promote phagocytosis, and mediate the recruitment and activation of macrophages. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcripts encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
