products description :
Mouse anti Human Neuron Specific Enolase antibody, clone BBS/NC/VI-H14 recognizes gamma enolase, an enzyme involved in carbohydrate metabolism. The antibody may be used to stain neural tissue, and labels most tumors of neuroectodermal and neuroendocrine origin. Mouse anti Human Neuron Specific Enolase antibody, clone BBS/NC/VI-H14 does not recognize the alpha or beta isoenzymes of enolase.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes one of the three enolase isoenzymes found in mammals. This isoenzyme, a homodimer, is found in mature neurons and cells of neuronal origin. A switch from alpha enolase to gamma enolase occurs in neural tissue during development in rats and primates. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
