specificity :
This item recognises the delta polypeptide of the CCT chaperonin molecule complex. The intact CCT complex is composed of eight polypeptides in a double-ring structure. CCT is important within cells in aiding the folding of proteins including actin, tubulin and the VHL tumour suppressor protein.
form :
Purified. Purified IgG - liquid
concentration :
IgG concentration 1.0 mg/ml
storage stability :
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use. Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.
tested application :
Gel Super Shift Assays (GS), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB)

ncbi summary :
The chaperonin containing TCP1 (MIM 186980) complex (CCT), also called the TCP1 ring complex, consists of 2 back-to-back rings, each containing 8 unique but homologous subunits, such as CCT4. CCT assists the folding of newly translated polypeptide substrates through multiple rounds of ATP-driven release and rebinding of partially folded intermediate forms. Substrates of CCT include the cytoskeletal proteins actin (see MIM 102560) and tubulin (see MIM 191130), as well as alpha-transducin (MIM 139330) (Won et al., 1998 [PubMed 9819444]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
uniprot summary :
CCT-delta: Molecular chaperone; assists the folding of proteins upon ATP hydrolysis. As part of the BBS/CCT complex may play a role in the assembly of BBSome, a complex involved in ciliogenesis regulating transports vesicles to the cilia. Known to play a role, in vitro, in the folding of actin and tubulin. Belongs to the TCP-1 chaperonin family. Protein type: Chaperone. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p15. Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; chaperonin-containing T-complex; centrosome; microtubule; cytoplasm; melanosome; cytosol. Molecular Function: protein binding; unfolded protein binding; ATP binding. Biological Process: de novo posttranslational protein folding; cellular protein metabolic process; protein folding; binding of sperm to zona pellucida
