specificity :
This item recognises human placental alkaline phosphate, a 67kD isoform expressed in trophoblast cells of normal human placenta, in seminomas and in ovarian carcinoma. The H17E2 antibody has been widely used in immunolocalisation studies of germ cell tumours and may also be used in ELISA based assays for the measurement of soluble PLAP.
form :
Purified. Purified IgG - liquid
concentration :
IgG concentration 1.0 mg/ml
storage stability :
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use. Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.
tested application :
Immunohistology Frozen*, ELISA (EIA), Flow cytometry (FC/FACS)
app notes :
Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells in 100ul. Immunohistology - Frozen: Application Note: The epitope recognised by this antibody is reported to be sensitive to formaldehyde fixation and tissue processing. MyBioSource recommends the use of acetone fixation for frozen sections. . Flow Cytometry: Maximum Dilution: 10ug/ml
other info1 :
Perservative Stabilisers: 0.09% Sodium Azide. Preparation: Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography on Protein G from tissue culture supernatant.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is an alkaline phosphatase, a metalloenzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphoric acid monoesters. It belongs to a multigene family composed of four alkaline phosphatase isoenzymes. The enzyme functions as a homodimer and has a catalytic site containing one magnesium and two zinc ions, which are required for its enzymatic function. The protein is primarily expressed in placental and endometrial tissue; however, strong ectopic expression has been detected in ovarian adenocarcinoma, serous cystadenocarcinoma, and other ovarian cancer cells. uniprot summary :
ALPP: There are at least four distinct but related alkaline phosphatases: intestinal, placental, placental-like, and liver/bone/kidney (tissue non-specific). The first three are located together on chromosome 2 while the tissue non-specific form is located on chromosome 1. The product of this gene is a membrane bound glycosylated enzyme, also referred to as the heat stable form, that is expressed primarily in the placenta although it is closely related to the intestinal form of the enzyme as well as to the placental-like form. The coding sequence for this form of alkaline phosphatase is unique in that the 3 untranslated region contains multiple copies of an Alu family repeat. In addition, this gene is polymorphic and three common alleles (type 1, type 2 and type 3) for this form of alkaline phosphatase have been well characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].
