products description :
NDuFA4 belongs to the complex I 9kDa subunit family. Mammalian complex I of mitochondrial respiratory chain is composed of 45 different subunits. This protein has NADH dehydrogenase activity and oxidoreductase activity. It transfers electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain. The immediate electron acceptor for the enzyme is believed to be ubiquinone. Recombinant human NDuFA4 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli.

uniprot summary :
NDUFA4: Accessory subunit of the mitochondrial membrane respiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase (Complex I), that is believed to be not involved in catalysis. Complex I functions in the transfer of electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain. The immediate electron acceptor for the enzyme is believed to be ubiquinone. Belongs to the complex I NDUFA4 subunit family. Protein type: EC 1.6.99.3; Mitochondrial; EC 1.6.5.3; Energy Metabolism - oxidative phosphorylation; Oxidoreductase. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p21.3. Cellular Component: mitochondrion; mitochondrial inner membrane; mitochondrial respiratory chain complex IV; mitochondrial respiratory chain complex I. Molecular Function: protein binding; cytochrome-c oxidase activity; NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) activity; protein complex binding. Biological Process: cellular metabolic process; mitochondrial electron transport, NADH to ubiquinone
