products description :
TAF15 is a member of the TET family of RNA-binding proteins. The encoded protein plays a role in RNA polymerase II gene transcription as a component of a distinct subset of multi-subunit transcription initiation factor TFIID complexes. Translocations involving this gene play a role in acute leukemia and extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma, and mutations in this gene may play a role in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. Recombinant human TAF15 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

uniprot summary :
TAF15: RNA and ssDNA-binding protein that may play specific roles during transcription initiation at distinct promoters. Can enter the preinitiation complex together with the RNA polymerase II (Pol II). A chromosomal aberration involving TAF15/TAF2N is found in a form of extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcomas (EMC). Translocation t(9;17)(q22;q11) with NR4A3. Belongs to the RRM TET family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Translation; RNA-binding; Oncoprotein. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q11.1-q11.2. Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; nucleolus; nucleus. Molecular Function: protein binding; DNA binding; zinc ion binding; nucleotide binding. Biological Process: positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent. Disease: Chondrosarcoma, Extraskeletal Myxoid
