[COIL]
other gene names :
[COIL; COIL; CLN80; p80-coilin; CLN80]
purity :
Antigen-specific Affinity Chromatography.
form :
Supplied as solution form in PBS, pH7.4, containing 0.02% NaN3, 50% glycerol.
concentration :
0.49 mg/ml
storage stability :
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 4°C for frequent use. Aliquot and store at -20°C for 12 months. Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss ratewas determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition. Note: As fluorescence can photobleach when exposed to light, so the antibody must be protected from light.
tested application :
Western Blot (WB),Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF).
app notes :
Western blotting: 0.5-2 ug/mL;1:240-1000. Immunohistochemistry: 5-20 ug/mL;1:24-100. Immunocytochemistry: 5-20 ug/mL;1:24-100.
Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is an integral component of Cajal bodies (also called coiled bodies). Cajal bodies are nuclear suborganelles of varying number and composition that are involved in the post-transcriptional modification of small nuclear and small nucleolar RNAs. The N-terminus of the coilin protein directs its self-oligomerization while the C-terminus influences the number of nuclear bodies assembled per cell. Differential methylation and phosphorylation of coilin likely influences its localization among nuclear bodies and the composition and assembly of Cajal bodies. This gene has pseudogenes on chromosome 4 and chromosome 14. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
coilin: an ubiquitous protein found in nuclear coiled bodies (CBS), nuclear suborganelles involved in the post-transcriptional modification of snRNPs and small nucleolar RNAs. snRNPs undergo 2'-O-methylation and pseudouridylation in CBS. Differential methylation and phosphorylation of coilin likely influences localization among nuclear bodies and the composition and assembly of CBS. Located in the interchromatin space between the nucleolus and the nucleus. Protein type: Oxidoreductase. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q22. Cellular Component: Cajal body; membrane; nucleolus; nucleoplasm; nucleus. Molecular Function: identical protein binding; protein binding; protein C-terminus binding
