products description :
RQCD1, also known as RCD1, is a novel transcriptional cofactor that mediates retinoic acid-induced cell differentiation. It down-regulates MYB- and JuN-dependent transcription and may play a role in cell differentiation. RQCD1 also plays a role in retinoic acid-controlled lung development. Recombinant human RQCD1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a member of the highly conserved RCD1 protein family. The encoded protein is a transcriptional cofactor and a core protein of the CCR4-NOT complex. It may be involved in signal transduction as well as retinoic acid-regulated cell differentiation and development. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. uniprot summary :
RQCD1: Transcription factor that down-regulates MYB- and JUN- dependent transcription. May play a role in cell differentiation. Can bind oligonucleotides, such as poly-G, poly-C or poly-T (in vitro), but the physiological relevance of this is not certain. Does not bind poly-A. Enhances ligand-dependent transcriptional activity of nuclear hormone receptors, including RARA, expect ESR1-mediated transcription that is not only slightly increased, if at all. Belongs to the RCD1 family. Protein type: Cancer Testis Antigen (CTA). Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q35. Cellular Component: membrane; nucleus; cytosol; CCR4-NOT complex. Molecular Function: protein domain specific binding; protein binding; protein homodimerization activity. Biological Process: regulation of translation; poly(A) tail shortening; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; transcription, DNA-dependent; cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; RNA-mediated gene silencing; gene expression; sex differentiation; mRNA catabolic process, deadenylation-dependent decay; negative regulation of estrogen receptor signaling pathway
