form :
100mM NaHCO3, 500mM NaCl, pH8.3, containing 1mM EDTA, 1mM DTT, 0.01% sarcosyl, 5%Trehalose and Proclin300.
storage stability :
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months. Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the targetprotein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation andprecipitation were observed. The loss of this protein is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
tested application :
SDS-PAGE, WB, ELISA, IP, CoIP, ReporterAssays, Purification, Amine Reactive Labeling. (May be suitable for use in other assays to be determined by the end user.)

other info1 :
Source: Prokaryotic expression. Residues: Arg23~Cys186. Tags: N-terminal His-Tag. Tissue Specificity: Prostate. Subcellular Location: Secreted. Traits: Freeze-dried powder
other info2 :
Predicted isoelectric point: 9.1. Predicted Molecular Mass: 23.7kDa . Accurate Molecular Mass: 20kDa as determined by SDS-PAGE reducing conditions. Phenomenon explanation: The possible reasons that the actual band size differs from the predicted are as follows:. 1. Splice variants: Alternative splicing may create different sized proteins from the same gene. 2. Relative charge: The composition of amino acids may affects the charge of the protein. 3.Post-translational modification: Phosphorylation, glycosylation, methylation etc. 4. Post-translation cleavage: Many proteins are synthesized as pro-proteins, and then cleaved to give the active form. 5. Polymerization of the target protein: Dimerization, multimerization etc. Usage: Reconstitute in 100mM NaHCO3, 500mM NaCl (pH8.3) to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex.

ncbi summary :
Relaxins are known endocrine and autocrine/paracrine hormones, belonging to the insulin gene superfamily. In humans there are three non-allelic relaxin genes, RLN1, RLN2 and RLN3, where RLN1 and RLN2 share high sequence homology. The protein encoded by this gene is synthesized as a single-chain polypeptide but the active form consists of an A chain and a B chain linked by disulfide bonds. Relaxin is produced by the ovary, and targets the mammalian reproductive system to ripen the cervix, elongate the pubic symphysis and inhibit uterine contraction. It may have additional roles in enhancing sperm motility, regulating blood pressure, controlling heart rate and releasing oxytocin and vasopressin. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2013]
uniprot summary :
RLN1: Relaxin is an ovarian hormone that acts with estrogen to produce dilatation of the birth canal in many mammals. May be involved in remodeling of connective tissues during pregnancy, promoting growth of pubic ligaments and ripening of the cervix. Belongs to the insulin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9p24.1. Cellular Component: extracellular region. Molecular Function: hormone activity. Biological Process: female pregnancy; signal transduction
